When Was The Electric Lighter Invented

The electric lighter, often referred to as a piezoelectric lighter, was invented in 1961 by Japanese company Shimadzu Corporation. It works by generating a spark through the piezoelectric effect, where mechanical pressure is applied to a crystal (usually quartz), creating an electric charge. This innovation provided a more reliable and durable alternative to traditional flint-based lighters.
